My reaction to the war in Gaza

My reaction to the war in Gaza

As a Chinese student, I actually know that Pakistan and Israel are in a state of war, and I also know that Israel and other Middle Eastern regions have been in turmoil and anxiety for a long time (my own understanding seems to be about resource struggles, such as water resources and religious issues). However, apart from that, My understanding of the Gaza War cannot serve as a reference or reminder.

Therefore, I have searched a lot about the reasons for the war in Gaza and summarized the following points that I think are quite important. And these points have a certain advisory effect on the current international situation and international relations. And we can learn experiences and lessons from it to improve ourselves.

The first one, I believe that historical factors can be moderately abandoned by people. For example, the historical conflict between France and Germany is quite serious. However, in the face of the unstable form of the Second World War, they resolutely abandoned their hatred towards each other and joined forces to form the European Community. I believe this has deep reference significance for solving the war in Gaza. On December 7, 1970, during his visit to the Polish capital Warsaw, the German Chancellor was originally expected to perform a simple ceremony of offering flowers to pay tribute to the World War II Heroic Uprising Monument. However, he spontaneously knelt down and expressed his greatest humility for the inhumane acts of the Nazis in the past through silent repentance. If a country wants to continue moving forward, it must take its history seriously and face it squarely. In 1971, Brandt was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, and kneeling in Warsaw was also marked as an important milestone in the post-war improvement of relations between Germany and the Eastern European countries (the New Eastern European Policy). Germany has also spent more than fifty years reflecting on itself and has gained worldwide respect. It's 50 years since Willy Brandt fell to his knees in Warsaw to apologise for Nazi-era crimes | Euronews

The second is a sense of national identity. Israel was founded to provide a country where Jews sought refuge, while Palestinians viewed this process as a violation of their land and rights. I think China has done a good job in this area. Most of China is Han, but there are actually many ethnic minorities. We do not hate each other but respect the different living habits of each ethnic group. This makes China, although it has a vast fertile land, still maintains good ethnic relations. The 56 ethnic groups love each other like a family.

The third issue is religion, and the struggle for holy sites is part of this conflict. Jerusalem is of great significance to Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. Religious beliefs and control over holy sites have become one of the focal points of conflict. China has diverse cultures and religions, and people in many places believe in Buddhism and Taoism. This phenomenon of religious diversity has a long tradition in Chinese history, and the integration of Buddhism and Taoism is particularly prominent in some regions. Southwest regions such as Sichuan, Yunnan, and Guizhou have the most significant mutual influence between Buddhism and Taoism in China. In these regions, the belief in the unity of Buddhism and Taoism is very common. Folk beliefs and temples have both places to worship Buddha and Taoist deities.

The fourth is the awareness of peace and humanitarianism. Many countries actively participate in humanitarian work in international affairs, assisting and supporting people affected by conflicts, disasters, or poverty. Switzerland is one of the countries renowned for its sustained humanitarian efforts. It is one of the founding members of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent, which are one of the most important humanitarian organizations in the world. These organizations are headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, and provide emergency assistance, health services, and support to victims in conflict areas internationally. And Switzerland has always been known for its neutrality and humanitarian diplomatic tradition in international affairs. The Swiss government is committed to resolving conflicts, promoting human rights, and advancing global humanitarian efforts through sustained diplomatic efforts and international cooperation.

When seeing the cities that were bombed after the war in Gaza, they were devastated; Those who have suffered from war are displaced. My heart is filled with endless sorrow and compassion. It is precisely because we have also experienced the hardships of war, experienced the peril of our nation, and felt the ups and downs of our country that we have infinite empathy for the war in Gaza. While we empathize with it, we pray for world peace, and we should remember that peace does not come from the bloodshed and sacrifice of our ancestors.

When reviewing the Gaza War, we have to confront the profound impact it has had on the Gaza Strip and its residents. The outbreak of conflict indicates that the tense situation in the Middle East remains severe, bringing greater challenges to peace. This war once again calls on the international community to increase its efforts to seek comprehensive, just, and sustainable solutions to end this long-standing conflict.

Israel has declared a state of war, which means it can shoot and kill. However, how can the Israeli military distinguish between Hamas and civilians? Gaza is currently experiencing water and power outages, and once Israel enters Gaza, casualties are inevitable. I also want to know everyone's opinions on this point.
